Registration and Login Instructions
After downloading BatChat, you can register and log in directly on the mobile device. The computer (PC version, web version) requires scanning the QR code with the "BatChat mobile device" to log in.
- Register BatChat (BatChat) >> "Refer to this document"
- Login and Logout >> "Refer to this document"
BatChat (BatChat) promotes QR code login on PC and web versions mainly for security, reducing password management costs, and unifying multi-device authorization processes. This method reduces the attack surface while making the user experience simpler, multi-device synchronization, etc., avoiding account theft due to password leaks.
1. Higher Security, Preventing Password Leaks
Traditional account password login essentially relies on users entering credentials on new devices, which is vulnerable to keyloggers, phishing websites, or man-in-the-middle attacks.
QR code login is based on the mobile account that has already passed dual verification for authorization, without entering sensitive information on the PC, thereby reducing the risk of interception.
Mobile devices are usually bound with verification methods (SMS, BatChat internal verification, two-step security verification), while PC and web versions only accept authorization, so attackers cannot directly log in just by gaining access to the computer.
2. Avoid Repeated Password Entry and Dual Verification Hassle
Scanning the code directly uses the logged-in status of the mobile device to complete verification, avoiding repeated entry of verification codes and passwords.
This is faster for users and reduces account temporary lockouts due to incorrect password entries.
3. Prevent Bulk Attacks from Weak or Leaked Passwords
Many services suffer from brute force attacks or database leaks. BatChat (BatChat) does not encourage frequent password logins because mobile login identity information is harder to crack in bulk.
Since BatChat (BatChat) accounts are bound to mobile numbers, QR code authorization is equivalent to a one-time "temporary private key" verification, which does not store long-term usable passwords on the PC.
4. Trust Chain Mechanism Based on Primary Device Authorization
BatChat (BatChat) is multi-device synchronized and has a unified authorization logic for different device logins: the primary device (usually the phone) authorizes secondary devices (PC, web version, tablet).
The QR code method is part of establishing this trust chain: only requests recognized by the current primary device can log in, preventing unauthorized access from unfamiliar devices.
5. User Experience Trends
Most applications tend toward PC QR code login, which users perceive as "faster and more secure."
Especially for mobile-dominated applications like "BatChat (which is primarily used on phones in many regions)", the phone is the only core authentication entry point, while PC and web versions are just auxiliary terminals.
Other Issues
Check if the download and installation were successful, try shutting down and restarting; try uninstalling and reinstalling from software management.
You can customize the installation save path when downloading/installing BatChat.
Open the terminal and run the following command: /usr/sbin/softwareupdate --install-Batchatpc --agree-to-license, then re-download and run BatChat.
Currently, when downloading BatChat for Windows computers from the official website, there is only a downloader, no offline installation package.
